What is JOAD? Why JOAD? How Your Child Can Be Part of JOAD Fees & Equipment Advanced Instruction When Do We Start?
The Junior Olympic Archery Development Program was developed in order to provide this country's youth with a safe, disciplined archery training program. This program will not only teach the children the fundamentals of archery, but promote fun and enjoyment for the entire family. USA Archery has structured an achievement program that rewards improvement and stresses participation, so that archers can grow independently in a group situation. If one qualifies, a JOAD member could potentially become an Olympic and international archery contestant.

Why JOAD?
Pelkey's Archery is pleased to continue our affiliation with USA Archery so that we may host Vermont's finest Junior Olympic Archery Development club, know as the Vermont Junior Archers JOAD.
We are both proud and excited to offer this program to the youth of our communities, as it is the driving force in the development of archery in this nation.
Our classes are run by USAA certified coaches. Classes are limited to twelve students to ensure safety and personalized instruction. Training includes instruction, testing for achievement awards, and "Spirit Week." Club membership also qualifies students to participate in local and out-of-state tournaments.
Recent graduates have continued to be active in the sport of archery through instruction & competition. Club Members hold such titles as World Junior Team Member, JOAD Indoor National Champion, JOAD Outdoor National Champion, Collegiate All-American, Collegiate National Champion and World Cup Team Member.

A young person ages 5 to 18 who are interested in the sport of archery, a member of a JOAD club, and a member of USA Archery can be a part of this growing sport.

Archers may rent equipment or use his/her personal equipment. The JOAD program welcomes all ages and abilities, beginners to experts, as well as all equipment disciplines, recurve and compound.Club membership fees will include a team shirt (which archers are required to wear at all JOAD functions), a membership for the archery range, as well as the five weeks of instruction.
In addition to the club fee, each archer must be a member of the USA Archery.
Tournament Teams

Training involves advanced techniques and mental preparation.Three invitational teams have been created to allow archers to develop their skills to a more advanced level. More time and energy is required by the archer and family. Minimum eligibility requirements are in place along with mandatory activities for each team. In addition, club meetings are held monthly.
